Reselling has always been around in a global perspective. Here's an overview of our outlook on reselling and preparing new enthusiasts to consider a pursuit in the resell game.
For centuries, reselling has been a natural art of bartering where as back in the day, peace treaties were made in exchange for goods and shelter.
At the full scope, reselling has remained very relevant for the essence it brings. For example, it teaches people how to talk to others and build relations, how to barter and exchange things they have for something they don't have and are in need of,.. and most of all, it creates more abundance for everyone!
RESELLING IS EVERYWHERE !
From your local mom & pop shops, to flea markets, and to the giant department stores, reselling is every companies hidden life line.
The farmers produce goods for wholesale distributers who then sell those produce to grocery shops who then sell them to folks like us who consume them. All in which the person who buys those groceries are really not just supporting the grocery shop to stay in business, but the whole chain we just mentioned.
That is the very basic fundamentals of reselling.
SO HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO STREETWEAR?
The example we gave you guys above with groceries was just to help see that reselling is in our everyday essentials, not just in what we do with clothes.
In the perspective of clothes, someone had to make the gear which leads to wholesale distributers to then sell to clothing stores to then be sold to those who purchase a new pair of kicks or hat. And that transaction ends up supporting the cycle for more workers to create more clothes.
THE GOOD AND BAD
This is good, because it helps create more abundance of goods and work for everyone. But with that same scenario it can create inflation to where we have too much goods and they end up losing value thus folks losing work.
This is why we see sales going on around all the time!
SO WHERE'S THE VALUE IN THAT?
LOL Don't worry. We weren't gonna leave you hangin on that thought.
One word: DEMAND (aka "HYPE").
When supplies are high and prices drop, that is the perfect opportunity to buy into something that will eventually pickup again. And thus, this creates the flow of reselling.
We'll dive more into the concept in another time, but that is what makes reselling so fruitful and still around to this day. There's always a need to get rid of overflows just as much as there's always a need for acquiring something that is scarce. Both in which hold different values, yet both are equally important.
